Advent by Candlelight approaches

November 3rd, 2009

All ladies are invited to join us for our annual Advent by Candlelight on Sunday, December 6 at 5:00.  It is an evening of food, music, drama, and companionship, and we hope that you’ll be there and bring friends!  This evening prepares us for the activity of the holiday season by re-focusing us on Christ.  A freewill offering will be received to support the good work of the NJ Battered Women’s Shelter.

Second Service is Our Offering

August 21st, 2009

The new Cross-Connections service will begin on September 13 at 8:15 a.m. This second worship service will be 45 minutes long, and include one contemporary worship song as well as one hymn from the hymnal.  There will also be communion, the same sermon as at the 10:00 service, and some time for quiet prayer.  Please consider trying this new worship opportunity.  Many thanks to the 2nd Service Task Force (Chris Smith, Peter Becker, and Lisa Vaga) for their hard work, as they spent more than a year investigating the possibility of a second worship service, eliciting feedback, and making the recommendation to council to proceed with a new service.

Come to Rally Day and Picnic

August 21st, 2009

Rally Day is September 13.  Rally Day is our kick-off to the new year.  It will be the first day for the Cross-Connections service, Sunday School will begin during the 10:00 service, and we will have council and teacher installations.  Further, our annual Church Picnic will be at noon.  So, come to worship, go home and get changed, and bring back a side dish for lunch.  Burgers and hot dogs will be provided.

Work Day Ahead

August 21st, 2009

Our fall work day is Saturday, September 12, 8 a.m. to noon.  Come out to help get our building and grounds looking good for the fall and to set up the tent for Rally Day!  At the April work day, we got much done, had a great time, and saved the congregation $2500.  Come for as much time as you are able - even a little bit helps!  Families are welcome, as kids can help clean the nursery or join in a variety of projects.  We will have lunch together around noon for those who can stick around.
