Through generous contributions, Lutheran World Relief has been able to put $6 million towards Haiti earthquake relief — that is in addition to the work that has been done in Haiti over the last 15 years, which had built communities outside of Port-au-Prince that now are able to receive those seeking not only refuge, but a new life. 

Please take a few minutes to watch this video to see how your dollars are being shared and where the Church can continue to meet the needs of God’s children in Haiti.

Children’s and Adult Choir Feb. 14, 2010

Many thanks to the comunity of Gloria Dei — members, friends, and neighbors, who contributed to collections on “SouperBowl” Sunday.  We had far more food than could fit in one car, and $240 was donated for relief efforts in Haiti.  Food pantries are in special need at this time of year, so we are sincerely thankful to all who donated.  Thanks also to our 6-12 graders who make the SouperBowl of Caring such a great event!

February 7: SouperBowl of Caring and Youth Sunday at 10:00 service. Our Confirmation youth will be leading the service, including the sermon!

February 14:  Both services will use the Cross-Connections bulletin! Children’s choir sings at 10:00!

February 17: Ash Wednesday. Three services:

Noon - a short spoken service (15-20 minutes)

4:30 - a service for children and families (15-20 minutes)

7:30 - traditional service with Holy Communion

February 21: First Sunday of Lent. Regular services at 8:30 and 10.

February 28: Second Sunday of Lent. Regular services at 8:30 and 10
